What is Electric Current?
When electric charges move, that's called current! In most circuits, this movement is accomplished by electrons in a conductor. As it turns out, an electron doesn't need to move very far; it can force other electrons in the conductor to move. In the video, we demonstrate moving electric charges with a tube and some metal balls. We also examine conventional current vs. electron flow and how good ol' Ben Franklin can be blamed for that bit of confusion.

Voltage Current and Resistance
This electronics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into voltage, current, and resistance. The unit of voltage is the volt which is a measure of electric potential energy per unit of charge. Current is measured in amps and 1 amp is equal to the flow of 1 coulomb of charge per second. Resistance is provided by device elements known as resistors. Resistance is measured in ohms. This video discusses how to calculate the voltage of a battery, the internal resistance of a hair dryer, and the current flowing in a circuit using ohm's law. It discusses the direction of conventional current vs electron flow.

When electric charges move, that's called current! In most circuits, this movement is accomplished by electrons in a conductor. As it turns out, an electron doesn't need to move very far; it can force other electrons in the conductor to move. In the video, we demonstrate moving electric charges with a tube and some metal balls. We also examine conventional current vs. electron flow and how good ol' Ben Franklin can be blamed for that bit of confusion.

The unit of voltage is the volt which is a measure of electric potential energy per unit of charge. Current is measured in amps and 1 amp is equal to the flow of 1 coulomb of charge per second. Resistance is provided by device elements known as resistors. Resistance is measured in ohms. This video discusses how to calculate the voltage of a battery, the internal resistance of a hair dryer, and the current flowing in a circuit using ohm's law.
